Growing up as the oldest of seven, I have been instilled with a natural sense of caring for others. I was born in England, yet raised in Fort Worth by parents who were both in the medical field. Following in their footsteps I achieved a Bachelors of Science and worked as a registered respiratory therapist in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit for many years with the tiniest patients and their families.

It was a difficult time in my own life, which ultimately changed the lens from which I viewed the world and I developed much deeper empathy towards others and discovered my purpose in life. I started making decisions from my values and I obtained my Master’s degree in clinical mental health.

Growth

Before this major life change, time was thin, I lost it regularly. Whole days would pass by without me making something of them. Other days were packed with busyness but no presence, no savoring the bounty of a moment. In a crisis, time gets fat. It opens, layer by layer, until it seems that time stands still. This  invited me to live a thousand lives in whatever time I had been granted, without ever really knowing how much time is left. During this trying time, I drew closer to my faith, my family and myself. I have the gift of perspective, I see the positive side of almost anything. I am grateful, and try not to take anything for granted.

I believe you are the expert in your life and I’m a guide who is privileged to walk with you to shine light on possible new considerations and self-reflection. Together we’ll work to help you feel seen as your authentic self and through care and empowerment based work, we’ll explore issues pertaining to mood, identity, relationships, trauma, and life transitions. I hope you’ll reach out to learn more about my therapy services and the opportunity for us to come together to build a path toward healing and growth!

Qualifications

I earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Midwestern State University.  I  employ a multidimensional approach to counseling.  My main focus, in every session, is to provide you with unconditional positive regard and to create a space where you know that you are understood, and most of all, safe.  I consider it the highest honor to be invited to come alongside you and to walk with you.

I am Gottman level II trained and use this method with couples. I am also certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trust-Based Relational Intervention.

I look forward to seeing you in session.
